Katie Barish has served a variety of roles in her 15 years at Rocket Mortgage, ranging from loan officer, training, marketing and now as executive vice president, purchase mortgage she oversees the Purchase Banking Team. Barish’s role has grown in importance as the company’s purchase volume grows to new records every year. Barish understands the best ways to connect with clients and introduce them to the best loan officer for their situation. Barish oversees the entire purchase channel at a pivotal time for the company and the industry. Under Barish’s leadership, Rocket Mortgage had the highest purchase volume in the company’s history in 2021 and is on its way to reaching its goal of becoming the top retail purchase lender — excluding correspondent – by 2023. In January of 2022, the volume of Rocket Mortgage’s verified approvals rose 50 percent from that time in 2021.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

I realized that I had been passing on opportunities through the years where I didn’t feel “ready” or like I was the right person. I’ve made an active decision to jump into new opportunities that will push me out of my comfort zone.
