Essentially, for every large-muscled, super-powered, brave-hearted protagonist there is a slightly smaller, less-powered hero who itches for their moment of glory. These sidekicks can come in many different varieties: There are brainy sidekicks who provide the planning, there are brawny sidekicks who provide the punches, and there are friendly sidekicks who provide an emotional outlet for both the protagonist as well as the player. Constantly overshadowed by their partner, these dispirited deputies have the toughest job of all: keeping their friend’s head on straight and providing backup whenever needed, all the while receiving no glory for their advantageous actions.
