Last Minute Nerdy Halloween Costumes That Don’t Suck

Last-minute Halloween costumes: Because “Procrastinator” isn’t a costume

Halloween Costumes

Halloween is upon us, folks, and if you have that last minute party to get to and still don’t have a costume, fret not! Instead of going to your local party store or one of those weird Halloween stores that crop up only around this time of the year, save some cash and dig through your closet instead! Or, at the very least, just run over to your closest Goodwill or thrift store.

But what exactly can you put together on a tight budget and tighter time constraint? Well, believe it or not there are options, so long as you aren’t too picky.

Now I don’t guarantee that you won’t be spending any money on these costumes. After all, I have no idea what’s in your wardrobe. At the very least, though, you won’t be shelling out upwards of fifty dollars for a costume that very literally might not last the night. I will guarantee, however, that you’re likely to be a lot more comfortable, too, especially since anything you use will either be from your closet or fitted prior to purchase (unless you don’t do this – why wouldn’t you do this?).

Regardless, feel free to check out this list. I give you full permission to take from my well of uber creativity so that you can not be the odd man out with the “t-shirt” costume this year. You’re welcome.

Halloween Costumes

This will come in especially handy if, like me, you live in a region that gets particularly cold around this time of year. Also, if you’re like me, and happen to have a bunch of mismatched winter gear from all the times you’ve lost said items. The best part is, if you can’t match the main cast exactly, there are side characters that are just as passable.

Furthermore, if you want to be a little further out there you can go as different versions of the characters. For example, Butters’ super villain alter ego Captain Chaos would be real easy to put together with some aluminum foil, foam and a bedsheet (for the cape). Likewise, all the kids costumes, save Mysterio, would be fairly easy to crop together almost overnight. Or if you’re in a real bind, Terrance and/or Philip are equally doable, and could even make a couple’s costume.

In the end, this is probably one of the easiest costumes to pull of in a bind. Furthermore, they’re also highly recognizable. At most, you may need the appropriate color for hats and gloves, but beyond that, these characters ought to be a cinch for just about anyone in the northern hemisphere.
