Jonathan Kearns has made numerous contributions to MISMO and the industry as a whole through his devotion to enhancing the scalability of digital mortgages and interoperability. Through his strong strategic thinking skills and passion for a job well done, he has engineered a fundamental shift in the development of mortgage industry standards and the efficient exchange of information to the benefit of all stakeholders and consumers.

Kearns is the architect of MISMO’s eMortgage Technology certification program, which offers lenders a key resource for quickly identifying which remote online notarization (RON) and eClosing platforms were built in accordance with MISMO industry standards and requirements. This saves lenders time, provides a consistent assessment of eMortgage technology providers (interoperability) and supports the integrity and scalability of eClosings and eNotarization platforms across the mortgage ecosystem. The certification program was expanded this year to include certification of datasets and APIS and will soon be expanded to include eVault certifications and more.

As the VP of Product at MISMO, Kearns was the staff lead for release of Version 3.6 of the MISMO Reference Model. Version 3.6 of the MISMO Reference Model was the culmination of a multi-year collaborative effort among hundreds of volunteer experts from across the mortgage industry ecosystem. It is the basis for nearly all MISMO standards and will shape every new API, dataset and SMART Doc in the coming years.
