Star Ocean The Second Story R – Trekking from Eluria Settlement to Eluria Tower Walkthrough

Star Ocean The Second Story R:  Trekking from Eluria Settlement to Eluria Tower Walkthrough

Welp, we’ve managed to make it to the Kingdom of Ell in one piece, and now that we’ve managed to slap some sense into Leon, it’s time to head on and find everyone else.

Exit the beach and head straight towards the ! symbol on the map, you can follow the exploration directions below first if you want. For our playthrough, we went to the settlement first.

Once you enter the Eluria Settlement, a scene will play out where you thankfully run into all your friends, but sadly, we don’t see Leon’s parents.

After reuniting with the team and reassuring our little cat-eared compatriot that his parents will be okay, make your way to the ! Symbol.

Here, we’ll meet with the village elder and a few concerned citizens, and after we’ve pretty much explained to them that no help will be coming, we still offer to investigate the monster nest in Eluria Tower. You also get the opportunity to recruit Leon here, so if you skipped out on Celine, check out the character recruitment guide on how to get Leon here.

After you’ve finished jabbering away, make your way to the armory and grab all the free weapons and armor inside. Once you head out the door, a conversation with the man inside the room will take place, and he’ll hand you the ID Card; you’ll probably need this later.

Once we are all geared up and rested, head back out to the world map, and let’s grab a few items before we get to the tower.

Checking out the World Map

Below the settlement, you’ll see a crater on the map slightly to the Southeast. Make your way to the crater, where you will find a chest in the middle containing a Searing Sword x1.

From here, just make your way east again, and you’ll run into your next Unique Spot-The Claw Marks of Calamity which will net us 1000 XP and increases your HP and MP by 20% which is a helpful boost if you ask me.

Now run all the way to the Northeastern side of the map, where you will find a chest containing Meat x4.

Make your way back to the crater and then continue to the left, where you will find a waterfall; on the left side, at the base of the mountain, there will be a chest containing Resurrection Mist x3.

Finally, continue to the top of the same waterfall/mountain and head up the right side while on your bunny and you’ll find a chest containing Gale Earring+ x1.

After grabbing everything head to the ! Symbol and make your way inside the tower.

Eluria Tower

Once we get inside, we are instantly privy to the destruction caused by the beasts we’ll be dealing with ahead. After taking it all in, head toward the ! Symbol where Claude will make use of the ID Card from earlier granting us access to the building.

Eluria Tower 1F-2F

As soon as you enter, you’ll be in a large open area with 4 chests right in front of you. Two chests will contain Pixie Bracelet and Crested Shield and the others will have Light Cross+ and Holy Mist.

While there are two ways to take up the stairs, you’ll only need to stick to the left path, where you’ll run into another Unique Spot- Where Monsters Rule which will grant us 1000 XP and The Scream.

Continue up the stairs and make your way down the hall, where you’ll see 2 glass statues and 4 more chests to the left and right of the room. Take a quick look inside the chests with 2 containing Amulet of Freedom and Steel Helmet as well as Music Editor and Meteor Ring. After picking up the items, head over to both statues and interact with them and each one will have a letter and number combination.

    • One will read 3-A
    • The Other will read 5-H

Eluria Tower 3F

As soon as you get to the next floor, you’ll notice it’s pretty straightforward. So, as much as you’re going to want to head straight ahead, ignore that path first and let’s head to the right where there will be a chest with Fist of the Giants inside, but you will get surrounded by enemies when you open this chest so get ready to run or fight.

After we are done here, make your way to the left side of the map and grab the other two chests containing ?Armor and Fruit Syrup. Once you grab the items, head to the door symbol to the North and make your way to the next floor.

Eluria Tower 4F

As soon as you get to the next floor, head to the right, where you’ll see a bit of a split, head to the North, where you’ll find two chests containing Crystal x5 and Star Ruby x5. There will also be a statue here that will read off 2-E.

From here, there will be a chest farther to the right and a ?/statue nearby. Get the chest containing Dream Bracelet+ first, then Head towards the ? symbol.

Investigate this statue, and it’ll read off 1-D.

Head back to the split and take the bottom path. Follow this all the way to the end, and there will be yet another ? symbol, which means another glass statue. This one will read off 4-T

So, since there’s nowhere else to go, head back downstairs and make your way to the ! Symbol. Head over to the glass statue here, and now it’s time to solve the puzzle. Enter the letters in the following order.

  1. First letter-D
  1. Second Letter-E
  1. Third Letter-A
  1. Fourth Letter-T
  1. Fifth Letter-H

So, after you spell out DEATH the puzzle is solved, and you’ll receive a Key Card to move forward. Head up to the next floor, and you’ll end up in a big empty area. You don’t have to take the bottom path unless you just want to complete the map, as this is a dead-end.

So instead, just head to the ! symbol, and here you will make use of the key card, and then a small scene will commence.

After the scene is over, head over to the dead end I mentioned earlier, where another scene will take place where Claude is reunited with his father. Your reunion is sadly cut short as you learn that Expel has less than 80 minutes before it’s completely vaporized. Once all the talking and everything is said and done, head to the left toward the lift and make your way upstairs, where it’s time for our next boss battle

Eluria Tower 5F:

Once you are upstairs, head to the save point, heal up, and make your way straight ahead so we can finally put down this major thorn in our side, aka Cynne.

Cynne Boss Battle

HP: 180000   EXP: 36800    FOL: 26000

Weakness: 50% of all elements.

Item Drop: Emerald Ring

Don’t call it a comeback!! Once again, we are tied up in a battle with this annoying winged menace, but don’t fret since this time, you can take him out for good and rather easily. He’s nowhere near as powerful as he was in the first two encounters, but this time, he does come with a little backup as well as an extra attack besides his broken Fohn Wind.

Of course, you’re going to want to keep Rena on healing duties and make sure you keep her MP up. Ranged/Magic users can dominate here, but I went full melee. Set your strategy to focus on the enemy, and make sure you target the smaller enemies first. Once they’re out of the way, you can begin to unleash hell on the boss.

Depending on your team, it can be fairly easy to lock him down; at the time, I was utilizing the combo link and spamming Helm Splitter into Meteor Palm while utilizing my Assault characters; however, some form of ranged attack can make a huge difference. Regardless of whether you decide to take the fight in his face or far away, this fight can be fairly easy as long as you play carefully.

Now that the battle is over, let’s head to the last floor of this accursed place.

Eluria Tower 6F

Once you make it to the next, ignore the path straight in front of you, as you don’t need to head this way yet. Instead, make your way to the left path first and grab yourself an Amulet of Flexibility from the chest here.

Next, head all the way to the right side of the area and grab the chest containing Theory of Symbology which is a weapon for Leon.

Once you’ve got everything, move back to the center path and get ready to meet the Ten Wise Men aka the major pains you’ll be dealing with from this point on. You’ll go through a few cutscenes and then have to face off against one of these power-hungry madmen named Metatron, and just as you’d expected, he pretty much takes you out with minimal effort.

Once that battle is over, you’ll go through more cutscenes which will end Chapter 1, aka Disc 1.

Well, that about does it for our Star Ocean The Second Story-R Trekking from Eluria Settlement to Eluria Tower Walkthrough. You can check out our Star Ocean-R Centropolis to North City Walkthrough to continue your adventures!!!
