Can You Crack The Case?
The first episode of DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate released on VR platforms all the way back in 2022. We checked it out at the time and enjoyed it, but we also thought that as a visual novel it didn’t feel like a game that needed to be in VR.
Apparently the development team agrees. Over the last two years two more episodes have released on VR platforms but the team at IzanagiGames are now releasing the finished game on non VR platforms. It came to the Switch last fall, adapted for a more traditional platform. Fans who didn’t check that release out though will soon be able to check out the best of both worlds as DYSCHRONIA: Chronos Alternate Dual Edition is coming soon to PC players.
This release will include both the VR and non-VR versions of the game so you can play the way you prefer. All three episodes from the original release are here. Even better, players can check out the new demo which is available now on Steam. This demo features the first several hours of the game and allows players to carry their progress over to the main game. So if you have any question about how well a game originally made for VR platforms can play on a more traditional platform, you can find out for yourself.
